You don't want that, it's totally hideous. In fact, I'll take it off your hands, because I'm generous like that. I'll make a bitchin' restomod totally get rid of it somehow, I swear.

Hmm it might be a SBC in there already, right?

Swap it onto an s-10 chassis of your choice and enjoy a sweet looking old truck with all the modern amenities you could need.

Ain't nothing wrong with the existing rails, broheim, except possibly that they're not channeled into the body. Jury's still out on that one.

If you really need modern front-end, Mustang II it on the existing frame and don't half-ass. That, or use an Eagle 4wd setup. Straight frame rails are the easiest thing in the world to mod off of.

The truck has been sitting in those weeds for who knows how long. You can't tell me those frame rails are any good with any type of certainty.

Well, on the general "body rusts through before frame unless it's a Landy" rule, and no indicators of salt rule, I'd say better than even odds the frame's okay. Probably needs suspension rebuild and other work, but why fix it if it ain't broke?

Sitting in the weeds doesn't rust out frame rails. Driving on salted highways in the winter does.

The weeds will hold in the moisture and promote rust.

I can say this with 100% certainty. It's not in an area that uses salt on the roads, and never has been.

You're the one that brought up restomod.

Restomod herein meaning fixing to modernish standards, but with exotic performance parts from the 60s and 70s instead of modern car bits.
